The National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics (NCPO) – La Trobe University

La Trobe University was officially opened on 8 March 1967 by the Premier of Victoria. It began teaching during the first term of that year.

La Trobe was the third university established in Victoria. It has grown to accommodate more than 15,000 students at its Bundoora campus and over 7,000 at campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Beechworth, Bendigo, Mildura, Melbourne City and Shepparton.

The National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics (NCPO) is a Centre within the Division of Allied Health in the Faculty of Health Sciences at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. La Trobe qualifications in all health disciplines are recognised nationally and internationally. La Trobe is generally considered to be ranked amongst the top ten universities in Australia and in 2005 was ranked in the top 100 universities in the world. The NCPO offers a 3.5 year Bachelor Degree or a 4 year Honours Degree. Postgraduate training including Masters and PhDs by research is offered.
The NCPO is highly regarded for its undergraduate research program and for its innovative use of learning technologies.
